On Friday, March 17th, attorney Nancy Wolf
of States Attorney Joe Birkett's office
informed Watch Chairman, W. H. Whowell that
Tim Diamond of the PUBLIC INTEGRITY FINANCIAL CRIMES DIVISION
will be supervising the investigation of the Downers Grove Library's recent political activities.
In a subsequent communication Mr. Whowell was informed that
Tim Diamond has concluded that the violations were "not sufficiently
flagrant, as to warrant prosecution".
He declined to say what constitutes flagrancy.
Subsequent to this, the Library Director has issued the following letter to
the Chair of Downers Grove Watch:
